The New House

Our new home was purchased in the spring of 2014. It is a 1960's brick ranch in an established neighborhood, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an all-weather sunroom. We fell in love with its charm immediately and were able to put our stamp on the home by remodeling the interior to fit our needs and taste.

After 6 weeks of intensive renovations, we moved in. We continued the renovations over the summer and still have a long list of things to finish, but we love our new home.

So far we have:

• Reconfigured the main living areas by taking down some interior walls, moving the doorway to the laundry room and adding sqaure footage through including an exterior entry (but interior to the home) closet as part of the laundry room and kitchen
• Remodeled the kitchen with new cabinets, custom made countertops, tile floors, subway tile backsplash, appliances and crown molding. 
• Remodeled the living and dining rooms by opening up the space, refinishing the hardwood floors, installing crown molding and creating a custom light fixture for the dining room 
• Built a custom built-in bookshelves with a window seat for the living room.

• We have also taken down all the wallpaper in the home, painted all the interior walls and ceilings, painted the front door, installed all new interior doors and installed new flooring in the sunroom (pictures to come). 
• We added a privacy fence in the backyard (May 2014), an additional parking space to the driveway, and some minor landscaping (fall 2014).
