So after all the ideas, hours spent on the internet and discussions with each other, here is where we finally landed:
White crib skirt and black and white polka dot bumper by Carosuel Designs, curtains white drop cloths painted with yellow swirls by yours truly, the LOVE sign cut out on a piece of MDF and painted fire engine red by Matt, Deco Breeze Fan at Target, Bird Cages made into a mobile by my friend Laura, lamp from Ikea, black/white zigzag and striped fabric for chair cover by Rocky Top Designs, door hook Urban Outfitters, fabric bins Target, sheep art by Jake Page @ Renovatus.
As you can see we took the original pallet of white furniture, grey walls and combined it with our love of black and white, graphic prints, the red LOVE sign by Robert Indiana that Matt created in wood and painted red to mimic the original and some fun details like hand painted curtains, a mobile of bird cages and a cute sheep print.
To add to the details:

To add to the details:
- We'll fill up the white bookcase (not pictured) with lots of books and vintage toys (my mom saved a ton of my stuff).
- I'll cover the stock Ikea Poang Chair cover in the black and white fabric (zigzag and stripes) by Rocky Top Designs.
- Add a cute throw pillow in teal or yellow to the chair.
- Pop a changing pad from Babies R Us and a white and black polka dot changing pad cover from Carousel Designs on the dresser top
- Hang some black picture frames filled with colorful prints or fabric in yellow, red and teal around the room
- Find a cool lamp share for a nickel brushed table lamp that will sit on the dresser.
- And add a fun rug over the hardwoods*.
*That's right we are pulling up the carpet in that room, and are going to sand them and paint them white. We're crazy and we like to bite off more than we can chew. It's how we roll.
So dear friends and readers, what do you think?
sounds WONDERFUL!!! so excited for you guys.
ReplyDeletelove the room ideas! just an FYI that someone passed on to me... the target bins only have one handle but the babies r us ones have 2. front and back, easier to carry with stuff in them. EK pulls ours down and carries them around her room. just thought I would share:)
