Christmas Weekend

Monday, December 27, 2010

This weekend was great! We went to our church's Christmas Eve service, where they dedicated nine babies (2 of which belonged to our wonderful friends) and our pastor talked a little about the hope a child brings. Of course I got all teary eyed and hugging our friend's 2 year old as he said "Appy Chris-muss Ka-wuh" got me even more teary. We left the service a little early so we could catch the end of my extended family's Christmas Eve party - we forgot to take pictures, but it was a great time!

Christmas morning was spent at my parent's house. We ate breakfast and opened gifts and drank coffee and hung out. I made baked french toast for the second year in a row and it was so good! My parent's gave us money for a new TV, so we had very little to open, but it was actually really nice to spend the majority of the time with them talking, as opposed to opening gifts.

After my parent's we went back to our house to chill out - we watched a movie, Matt played xBox, then headed over to Matt's parents got for dinner. We went the nontraditional route for Christmas dinner - spaghetti, salad and garlic bread. We played games, opened gifts and took some family photos. And then it snowed! On Christmas! The first time in like 60 years or something. It was beautiful and magical. That's cheesy I know, but it really was special.

Sunday our church services were cancelled so we slept in, hung around the house and then had some people over for food and games. Again, forgot to take pictures but we had a blast.
Here are some pictures from the weekend:

Tiny (the cat) and Bella (the dog) on Christmas Eve.

Christmas morning at my parent's house. I'm wearing the new Roxy hoodie Matt gave me - so warm!

My parents' tree - pretty huh?

Christmas night at Matt's parents' house.

Our family friends Nicole and Joe joined us for Christmas dinner. And they decided to all wear black and gray striped shirts. I should have saved my black and gray striped shirt from Christmas Eve for this night too!

Bella came to Christmas with us. She's cute in her bow. And my sister in law, Faith, is the one in the green sweater. She's going to be the best auntie ever. PS - see the treadmill in the background? We hooked Bella up to it and made her walk fast for a few minutes to wear her out. It sort of worked.

Me as a hippie? Bella is happy, as usual.

Family photo take 2! I love this one. Bella and I have the same expression, Bill looks bored and you can't see Andrew's head. Awesome.

Our little house in the snow.

I love my family and friends and love the reason for the season - the birth of my savior, Jesus. Hope you all had a fantastic holiday weekend!
