The new house: an update

I've been MIA since the wallpaper disaster a few weeks ago - it took me two and a half days to remove all the wallpaper in our hall bathroom, and I spent the rest of my week off building our kitchen cabinets.

So far, the remodel has gone as planned - we removed all the intended walls, laid a subfloor in the former outdoor shed so it can become part of the interior, reframed a new doorway to the laundry room and did a ton of sheet rock repair and re-mudding of the ceiling where the old walls were.

Also Matt refinished and stained the hardwood floors and laid all the tile in the foyer, laundry and kitchen, and then installed all the kitchen cabinets. We also had our painters come and they finished the ceilings, walls and trim in the 3 bedrooms so far.

Needless to say, we have both been super busy working on the house, while I have been working at my real job and taking care of the kiddo. Hence the lack of blog posts, so sorry!

I have a few more posts to come about our kitchen (we went with Ikea and it was worth it!), some of our design decisions and of course lots of pictures. Thanks for your patience dear friends - it's been crazy in the Motts house these last few weeks.
