You have stolen our hearts. To say that we love you is an understatement - you are a precious joy in our hearts and the apple of our eye. Carrying you for 10 months, giving birth to you and spending the last month caring for your every need has been an honor and a pleasure. You have changed us in ways we cannot put into words.
The last month of our lives have been filled with so many wonderful moments with you - from your first cry, to your first smile; from your first bath to your first diaper blowout - truly every moment has been amazing. Even the hard moments we wouldn't take back! Parenthood isn't always easy of course, especially the times when you are overtired and fussy or when you are hungry and impatient (and we are sleep deprived). We wish we could meet your every need perfectly and in the perfect time, but thank goodness you are forgiving of me and your daddy. We really are trying to do the very best for you every day.
The first month marks a major milestone for your life and for ours. We knew this day would bring us to tears - you are already growing up too fast! But to see your every tiny development - recognizing our voices, smiling and cooing at us as we talk to you, sleeping five or more hours at night, nursing so well, and tracking us with your eyes across the room - is such fun. We know we will love every stage you are in, but I am treasuring these moments of tiny newness. You will never be this age and this small again.
Brighton Love, you are a sign and a wonder of our loving and living God. We waited so long for you and the struggle we went through to get you here on the earth with us was absolutely worth it. Your story has been an inspiration to many and a reminder that our God is a good god, even when we don't understand His timing or His plan. I can't wait for you to have your own relationship with the Lord so you can understand the kind of love that we hope to emulate for you - unconditional and full of grace.
